I had barely heard of George Mason, but I kind of liked the "poetic justice" of them getting into the final four....very late in the season, one of their players took a "cheap shot" at an opposing player. The GM coach benched that player for a game, which, since he was one of their best players, might have adversely affected their chances of getting INTO the tournament at all....the final selections were not made yet, and I believe that player would not play in the first round. I don't think most coaches would have risked a loss/not getting into the tournament over a matter of principle like that.
