All,

My wife is making me take her to visit her father in Monterey CA this month. So, I am organizing a couple shore dives in Monterey Bay on the 20th at 8 am. Show up right by the corner of Cannery Row and Reeside, across the street from Monterey Bay Inn ( we're staying at the Inn).

Anyone else up for diving some warm water? (at least by comparison, they tell me probably about 47).

I havent looked yet but did you also post this in one of the west coast groups? They might reallybshoooooow you some good spots. Unfortunatly I cant go I sure would like too. I have yet to dive in the pacific.

Yes, I have been posting in the Norcal forum, and have made a couple contacts there. Why they think Monterey is Northern Cal, I don't know. If you measure it out, it is almost exactly halfway N to S in the state.

I'm starting off easy with a couple shore dives right in the bay. They have some things called Metridiums or something like that. Evidently a type of anemone. Anyways, they have a field of them in the bay, so that is probably destination 1.

After that, we'll see! I might take my camera along.

You should ask in the NorCal forum. These folks dive year around and would love to show you the best spots!

Ken - Gilboa in the snow, rain, and wind was great but you have to find some warmer water. Hope you have a great trip and after I get back from the southern caribbean it will be back to WSU!
