What gloves do you use when your going for lobster? is it important to have a tough glove, like the akona's with the kevlar palm/fingers or does it not really matter.

I don't think you need kevlar just for lobsters. As long as you're careful and keep your fingers away from their claws, you should be allright with any glove that fits well and gives you the flexibility you need. Granted, accidents do happen, and you may want to have that extra lining. Personally, I've never had a problem lobstering with a simple 5mm neoprene glove. They've grabbed on to it a couple of times, but haven't really been much of a problem for me at all.

If your gonna reach deep after the bigguns, you may not be able to see it's claws. Get the Kevlar if you can. I used to dive with henderson non kevlar, got a few good nips from some big bugs. Now I have Scubapro kevlar and they ae great. I have still felt a good pinch, but it is much better. And I have big hands (2xl).

Good luck.
