Hey, folks. Newbie here looking for recommendations on gloves. I'll be diving in Central Texas (Austin area). I was wondering if any of you folks can give me some advice on suitable gloves for use here, and for Carib diving, please. I was able to pick up a brand-new 3/2 wetsuit off Craig's List, so I'm good there for a while, I think.

Thanks much!

Guessing you'll need a 2 or 3 mm for home(summertime type diving, greater-5mm- for winter diving) but forget gloves for Caribbean diving--they're oulawed in most Marine Parks........

If you want a cheap reef glove look at the mechanic-style gloves at the Home Depot. It's about what you'd want anywhere you're wearing a 3/2, and its 1/5 the price of anything with a dive gear manufacturer's logo on it. The cheap ones without the padded palms.

I dive the Tilos Reef Gloves in Lake Travis most of the time. Exceptionally light, strong and comfortable. For most of the warm water weenie diving in Travis they are all you need. If you're goign to extend a bit into the colder season add a pair of 3mm gloves (and a 7mm wetsuit) and if you want to survive the real man winter diving, go with a Bare drysuit and the Bare 5mm K palm glove.
