Am I glad I found Scubasource - great site. I have been out of the water for a long time, but I am back - Wow - things sure have changed in 13 years of non-diving.
I was certified NASDS back in 1979, and was fortunate enough to do a lot of great diving (mostly wrecks, with the occasional island trip thrown in) up through early 90s - close to 200 dives. Then kids and starting a business hit, and I have been dry through now. My first dives back in the water was the Caymans a few months ago, and that rekindled the fire. While there I swallowed my pride and took a refresher course - and was very glad I did. Have managed a couple of local trips since then, and are planning a quick long weekend Keys trip for later this month.
Things have really changed - computers everywhere, nitrox everywhere, internet buying everywhere, my old dive shop went out of business (loved them), closest dive shop is now 45 minutes away (do not love them), lots of gear manufacturers now.
With so much change, I have not known a lot of the answers (at least my old Mark VII rig still honks), and then I find this site. I see lots of discussions and disagreements, but we never had this much info back in 79. This is great, thanks again.
