Went to Gilboa this past weekend and Jody had said that now you have to pay 4 dollars per person if you drive back to the docks and drop off your gear. If you dont want to pay the 4 dollars per person, you can WALK your gear back to the dive table from the main parking lot. She said people were abusing the "previlege" by dumping their gear in the camp sites instead of the dive tables. So now, its 19 dollars per person to dive there, unless you want to walk your gear from the main parking lot. She said nobody has really complained about this??

Unless you're paying to camp, your gear is supposed to go down on the tables. If you want to use the picnic tables and a site, you need to pay for one. Sounds reasonable to be, but then I always camp.

I didn't even know that you were supposed to put your gear on the tables and not at the sites.

AAhhh!!! you are the culprit........I am going to tell Mike on ya. :D

I would think that they would have signs posted if it was such a big deal, so that the customers would know not to put their gear onto the sites. How is charging someone 4 dollars more going to solve the problem? If they are going to raise the entrance fees, then just raise it. Dont use something as this as an excuse to raise the rates.

I can't recall the exact wording of the rule but I agree with his reasoning for it. There have been times when I paid for camping but couldn't find a decent spot because they were taken up with "parkers." So, maybe this policy will help with that situation. I've heard that it's not new, but is a policy in place for a long time. With the amount of people using the quarry Mike had to put some teeth into the rule as I understand it.

What if I bring my own picinic table and canopy?

Sorry guy, still gotta pay to use the camp site. You're paying to use the ground under your feet whether you use the associate picnic table or not.

Oh~~ I see. But, $19 is still cheaper than BS's $20.... :rofl3: Gilboa even has an annual pass.

I don't mind $4 to save my back.... ;)

I can use my dolly over there, can't I?

Jody said this is a rule that was just enacted. It used to be that if you wanted to park back by the camp sites while you dove that you paid 4 dollars per person. Now you cant even drive to take your gear back to the dive tables, off load your gear and return your car to the main parking lot without paying 4 dollars per person. If you walk from the main parking lot with all of your gear, you wont be charged the 4 dollars per person. This isnt four dollars per car, but per person. I had my two sons with me (we drove together in one car) and we ended up paying an additional 4 dollars per person just to drop off our gear at the dive site.
