It's been more than a year since we began documenting the Giant Sea Bass on Hermosa Artificial Reef. In spite of the poor visibility and many weekends of undiveable conditions this year I was able to photograph four of the massive fish this morning. The largest one, about six feet long allowed me to get within a foot or so but I had to back up to fit him in the frame.
Visibility was four times what I had last weekend. It went from three feet to a milky twelve. I didn't think it was good enough to gear up again so we came home early. Maybe the worst is behind us and we can begin to enjoy diving again.
