Hey folks,
I'm a newbie here and have only posted in the intro forum and the vintage equipment forum,so I hope this is the right place for general chat.
Anyway if you've read my post you know I have most of the gear I need except for a wetsuit and a few small items.
Yesterday I went to the dive shop that my friend works at to look at the gear while he serviced some equipment.
I looked at the wetsuits and found one I like that wasn't too expensive and found the other things I need .
I also got the price for my open water classes and ceritfaction ,$475.00 so hopefully I'll be able to get that done before the summer is over, just gotta scrape the money together, but I'm working on that.
I'm really excited to get going on this , I've been wanting to learn to dive since I was a kid.
Anyway just thought I'd post here and say hi,and to update those of you that had read my other post.
I'm looking forward to becoming part of the diving community and hope to learn all I can from y'all that know and being a contributing member of this forum.
Thanks,
Louie

Welcome Louie. I haven't read your other post, but will shortly. Bunch of great and knowledgable group of guys and gals here. You will have to keep us updated once get your open water and start hitting the water.

Yes welcome. Hope you get the OW done in summer (when does that end in VA, about December....?). Funny just yesterday after an OW course I advised the students to join SB as I've certainly learned a ton here. Of course I add that you have to filter some things out at times, but that's just logical with any social media.

Yep,you folks come highly recommended by my friend who's been diving for years. Between him, the instructor that owns the shop he works at and y'all I think I'm in good hands .
I'll be picking y'alls brains and keeping you posted as things come along.
Thanks,
Lou
