Getting married in Destin Florida!! IDEAS??

Hey guys, I have finally popped that question to my special someone. We are getting married the first week in aug. in Destin Florida. I was woundering if anyone knows about any great dive spots around that area. Or if anyone would maybe consider taking my new wife and I out for a dive to show us around. Thanks guys and gals!!

If the weather holds up at that time.... almost any dive operator will be able to get you two to a nice spot on the east coast.

destin is up there!!!!

you will be too far from the east coast. depending on your cert level/number of dives/current max depth - i would suggest USS ORISKANY. its hefty in price(150pp doesnt include tanks), but worth it, i am sure.

****please note - you have to have atleast 20 dives, AOW cert and experience to atleast 80' in the two months prior (double check that depth thing, i could be wrong)

Water will be nice and warm by then...we have a lot of great diving around Destin/Fort Walton Beach/Pensacola area. Destin jetties are one of my favorites, Morrison Spring for a good Florida spring dive, if you are more advanced the Oriskany is a great dive (contact scubaboard member Oriskany Divemaster for help), and a few easy beach dives in Navare and Pensacola beach. Those are just a few suggestions. Come over to the Northwest Florida section and let us know when you are coming and maybe we can put a dive together.

You looking for wedding ideas also in Destin?


Most folks that go there for a wedding do it on the beach. I've seen lots of weddings there, usually in the afternoon closer to sunset for two reason. 1.) it is just much neater to do it at sunset or just before. 2.) the parking lots on the beach open up as the beach tourists make it back to their rooms to get ready for dinner.

Some folks do this at public beach acesses, parks, etc... or just rent a large house and have it on the beach there.

Let me know if you need more. I know the wedding director at San Destin Resort(Hilton) also if you're interested in that.
