getting horizontal for those with no natural buoyancy

Pete, your point of moving the tank down is counter intuitive but I'll give it a try.
The difference is very small as the buoyancy is small, but it's there. Fins are a great way to change buoyancy as well. Fins like the Deep6 Eddy Fin have a slight positive buoyancy. I also control my trim by extending and bending my legs at the knees. Yeah, I kick with bent knees.

Dive Gear Express sells very similar pouches and I dive with two of them on my shoulder straps. It's all the weight I got (tropical diver) and it's sort of ditchable.
