I'm a Fish!
I've been approached by a film crew to do/provide the following:
1) video housing & camera
2) videographer
3) stock footage to be used in the final product.

I have a couple of questions:
? How much should the videographer be worth each day?
? Re stock footage - do you charge for how long they take initially to choose from or how much they actually use?
? What about the footage the videographer shoots on the day - does he/she retain the copyright and use of the footage or does it all get handed to the film crew?

Well here are my thoughts:

1. Depends on the experience and what the job entails.
2. What they take
3. that is negotiable. I have done some jobs where I retain everything. Sometimes I get no rights, and other times I get rights for advertisement/promotional use, but no sales rights.

Best of luck.

1 & 2. Try them at 800 US dollars per day for you and your camera plus expenses plus 400 dollars travelling or waiting around.
3. My prices are here: http://www.bubblevision.com/copyright.htm You can also reference http://www.oceanfootage.com Go for US$30 dollars per second for national broadcast and don't be shy in doing so.

PLEASE let us know the outcome.

Nick

That sounds great Nick. Those are nice prices. I always have a hard time myself coming up with figures when asked.
