I'll agree with useing a little hair conditioner & water for getting into your wetsuit quick. Especially with open cell inside wetsuits......

I dive cold water but will still dip my 7mm in the water to get it fully wetted before putting it on. I have a set of calf and thigh muscles that are much larger than the wimpy ones most wet suit manufactures tend to design their suits for. I have found that when wet, my suit goes on much easier than when dry or when just damp as it would be after an hour or two surface interval. The water fills the pores of the nylon inner fabric and lets the suit slide much better.

My son has skinny legs but monster size 13 feet and uses a set of nylon fabric slippers he got at the local dive shop. (They used them to help customers try on wet suits.) They are just little booties with elastic cuffs that allow his huge feet to slide through the normal sized calf section and zipperless ankle cuffs in his wet suit. Once the suit is on you put the booties back in the dive bag. It is basically a refined version of the wal-mart sack idea but more durable and without the stares that occur on the dive boat.

I agree with Rick. 1/3 baby shampoo, 2/3 water. You can also try 1/3 Hair Conditioner and 2/3 water -- works for me.

Hate to be a wimp but no matter how warm the water is i think i'll avoid dipping my suit in it any earlier than i need to :P

So being the wimp i am a bring a thermos of hot water, have a cup of tea out of it to keep warm and pour the rest onto my suit, keeps it nice and toasty :P Has the same effect as dipping the suit but without the chill and there is no chance the water will harm the suit (or if there is we have a serious problem :P)
