Hello!
I'm pretty new to this board and I'm originally from Germany and was wondering if there are any other German divers around in the US. Did you encounter any diffferences from diving in Germany?

I lived in Germany for many years - but my diving was all in Hurghada. I now live in Hawaii and I find that on the charters I did in Egypt - time didn't matter. You left the dock at 8 and came back at 3 or 4, only having done 2 dives, but having a nice lunch that was prepared in the ships galley...lots of time to work on the log books, talk, sing and dance with the crew. All in a comfortable pace. Here it is all about time and getting it done. The boats are much much smaller and you leave the dock at 8 or 9 and you get back by noon....not all bad, you can still do something else in the afternoon. Oh yeah, the mud maps were also great, no room for that on the boats here.

I merged the two threads and left them in BSD. I'm sure that there are more than two "german" divers here - Kommt raus, ihr seid umsingelt! lol (come out, you're surrounded)
