German diver dies after difficulties in Xwejni, Gozo
A German diver, 78, has died after finding himself in difficulties in Xwejni Bay, Gozo.

The incident happened at about 11am.

The diver was in a group of eight. He was taken to shore by his colleagues and an ambulance was called, but efforts to save him were unsuccessful.

In August 2013 the government launched an information campaign targeted at foreigners, with the aim of warning them about the dangers, particularly when swimming in rough seas. That came after two French tourists perished.

But another Frenchman died in similar circumstances later that year while a German was fortunate to be rescued in 2014.

I wonder who the Maltese authorities will arrest this time (or if they're finished with that nonsense)

78 years old!! I'm very sorry he passed but thrilled he was still diving at that age.
