TEERLKAY:
Glad to hear the Bc is getting such good reviews. Would some of you happy owners like to comment on, what Genesis calls the "thermo-molded comfort pad"? How hard is it? What type of material? does it appear to be able to hold up over 200 or so dives?

TIA

The Scuba Diving review said that the BC is 3-4 lbs positive. They think it is that pad. This appears to be the only negative I have heard about this BC.

These are exactly the same BCs I am looking at. Great info about the size of the weight pockets and about the Sherwood Freedom. Was your waist adjusted all the way out? I have a 48 inch waist so I will need a bit more room. Were you wearing a wet suit?

The cumberbund had a little more than half overlap in a 3MM suit. Suggest you try one on before you buy.

Backpad appears to be a molded foam with a nylon shell cover. Its soft.

Genesis advertises the shell as 1050 denier ballistic nylon construction. It appears durable. I only have 2 dives on it and can't give a qualified opinion on long term durabiliy. I hope it lasts 200.

My LDS does not have one in stock. They are checking sizing with Genesis and can order one for me. I just want to make sure that I don't order if I know it won't fit since I can't look at it. Genesis says the cumberbund is adjustable. Is there an adjustment in the back to let it in or take it out or is only velcro overlap (as the Sherwood Freedom has). Thanks for the help. Not to many people have these yet. They seem like a great value.

I do not see an adjustment for the cumberbund. Appears to be just an elastic velcro overlap. Cumberbunds can be extended with an accessory but, the waist belt is another story.

When I worked with my LDS, they assured me that if the size wasn't right when it came in, they would put it on the rack and sell it to someone else. I was under no obligation to purchase the BC if it didn't fit. Suggest you ask the LDS if they would be willing to do the same or return it to the manufacturer/distributor.

Thanks for the info everyone. Genesis got them the sizing and it looks like it will not fit so it became a non-issue since I will not order. They did say that they would put it in stock if I did order it and it did not fit.

It looks like I am going to get an Aeris Reefrider if I go with a BI. I used the owners over the weekend and it fit me well and seemed well made. This is brand new with very little info here but since I used it for a weekend I need less input. It does have a widely adjustable fit. The only thing stopping me is I still may go BP/W. I need a bit more time to think about it.
