thanks for all the advice, you guys are great :D Can't wait, it's gonna be -38 C tonight here in Winterpeg!

Stop sugar-coating. My niece posted this on FB: "-40 now. -51 by tomorrow morning. Lame Winnipeg. Super lame." :)

Have fun.

Like an idiot, I once left my camera in the rinse tank after a night dive. When I realized this 6 hours later I ran down there to find it still in the tank. Divers are a great bunch.

thanks jersey, sounds a little like Scuba Club in Coz. we will take heavy plastic hangers.

I've had 7 1-week stays on Bonaire; 2 were at Buddy's. I prefer to take gear back to my room, especially computers. But I don't always. The only time I'm personally aware of an alleged theft was staying at another resort (not Buddy's!) that also had a common gear room. I was with a fairly large group organized by a club, and one person's new BCD somehow got 'exchanged' for an older, more beat up version of the same brand.

On the other hand, at that same other resort, I've left gear out in a sitting area out front and never had a theft. Also on Bonaire I've left stuff in the back of the truck so it'd be ready to roll in the morning (not recommending that, but it's happened).

So, theft can happen, and I'd bring unusually tempting things like dive computers & high-end reg.s back to the room. Otherwise, whatever's most convenient for you.

Richard.

thanks drrich. we always take our regs and computers back to our room. it's the heavy/bulky stuff we don't want to lug back and forth. as long as we can leave our bc's and weights and fins in the gear room, we'll be fine. we have a mesh bag for the small stuff.

A complete dslr system was left in the rinse tank at Buddy's..the diver left the island and went home.Augusto the dive op manager kept it until contacted by the owner and sent it to him.
