Yesterday was the first nice Saturday of the year. Fearing what the might portend for the parking situation, my buddy and I decided to meet at my place and take one vehicle.

We also decided that setting up the gear in the shade of my garage seemed more comfortable than doing so in the parking lot at the beach.

Once all was said and done and my truck was loaded up, I couldn't help but laugh a bit at the result, Gear Enough for Two:

I am amazed, over and over, at just HOW MUCH STUFF is required to dive in cold water. We manage to get two people's worth of gear in a Dodge Caliber, but it's a light driving fit. When we had the Gathering here last fall, we were packing four or more people's worth of gear into the back of an F-250, and THAT was full!

last year we did a cold water dive trip.. i swore then never to fly to a cold water destination ever again!!! too much luggage, too much stuff, too much packing!

Filling an F-250. Wow. That's an accomplishment. Did it involve scooters?

Yes, it involved scooters, doubles, multiple singles, and a ton of dry suits and associate detritus of diving. It was an amazing thing.

I schlepped something like 21 tanks to the shop on Sunday morning -- we have pictures somewhere.

I remember hearing about that... and seeing the results when I finally woke up. Lynne, you were [and are] amazing.

Next time, Wake Me UP!!!! :D I can be bribed with coffee and nitrox.
