Just got back from a week on Grand Cayman staying at our timeshare at Morritt's and diving with Ocean Frontiers. This was my first "diving" trip to our timeshare (owned it for a while but kids & other things kept coming up)...Based on several recommendations on this forum, I went with Ocean Frontiers for diving and that was definitely the right choice. I had 6 dives over the week's time that were great.
First dives on Saturday, I buddied up with Alex (Alex777) from here and that was a real treat. Wonderful buddy that showed me a couple of new techniques and made the first dives of the trip a very enjoyable time (sometimes getting the gear sorted, and weighting tweaked can be "trying")...The first couple of days the winds caused the dives to be picked from sites on the north side, which are less frequently dived therefor the sites are in better condition. Walls and reefs were in beautiful condition except for lingering damage from Ivan (4+ years ago)...
Other dives were with other folks since my normal buddy (my daughter) was having sinus problems and couldn't dive until Wednesday. Ocean Frontiers were wonderful working with us and her condition so when her sinus' finally cleared up we did one of their all-day 3-tank trips (Deep wall, shallow Stingray City, Lunch @ Kaibo Yacht Club, and then 3rd dive after lunch). Turned out there was too much current for the originally planned 3rd dive location so we got to go to another wall/reef dive which was beautiful.
One really nice thing about Ocean Frontiers is their way of treating the divers. If you want/need guidance, there's always a "guided" tour option of the site(s) but there's also the option for going off and "doing your own thing". They give the recommended profile and remind you that folks are on the boat, but if you can go 45 minutes instead of 40 ...not a problem...just stay out of deco, and be considerate...They have some really great divemasters (Hi TJ) and boat captains (Hi George), and they really try to make sure everyone has a good time without getting in the way...they log each dives profile and at the end of the week, provide you a printout with the dive location, and your dive's overall time/depth profile so you can fill in any details on your logs...I use a computerized log and download from my dive computer for my logs and this gave me the names of the sites to enter without having to write it down on paper to remember each of the site names... Highly Recommended operator...
Thanks for reading and if you have any questions let me know...
