Gary Gentile is an author, lecturer, photographer, explorer, and deep-sea wreck-diver.
Gary has specialized in wreck-diving and shipwreck research, concentrating his efforts on wrecks along the eastern seaboard, from Newfoundland to Key West, and in the Great Lakes. Of the thousands of decompression dives that Gary has made, more than 170 of them were on the Grand Dame of the Sea: the Andrea Doria.
He is the author of more than three dozen books.
Gary will present, Andrea Doria: Floating Italian Art Gallery. The author will recount the highlights of more than 100 dives he made on this most famous of shipwrecks, covering in detail everything from planning to execution, from sightings of unusual marine life to adverse weather conditions, from a tour along the immense hull to exploration of the vast interior, including the First Class Dining Room and Gift Shop, with rare underwater photos of china, glassware, jewelry, and the ship's bell.
