What does this mean for flight plans to indonesia?

probably not much. they are trying to get a restructuring pushed through and they are also a flag carrier so unlikely to go bankrupt and be completely gone like TWA/PanAm.

One of the bankruptcy articles said they were possibly going to eliminate international flights.

Hopefully no impact of this before my Dec 21 and Jan 2 Jakarta to Sorong flights...

they would probably offer refunds or try to get you routed with a partner airline in skyteam (eg delta/china/korean)

that happened to me where I had a SAS flight cancelled and ended up on a Lufthansa flight instead

Hopefully, but last minute flight shuffling for a liveaboard trip over Christmas would suck. Makes me wonder if I should book backups and take a cancelation hit if all goes as scheduled with Garuda?

There is always Lion, Batik. and Indonesia AirAsia.

@Joneill it doesn't sound like indonesian domestic flights would be affected outside of garuda going so bankrupt in the next month that they stop flying abruptly like thomas cook air or wow air

Notice that the article is dated 26 Sept 2022...
