Here goes...

Q: Who invented the first SCUBA regulator?
 
yikes... hard question to pin down

there were demand valve regulators used with surface supplied diving in the late
1800's (the first i think was Rouquayrol and Denayrouse's system).

but if you mean SCUBA (as in, self-contained) then i'd have to say Le Prieur and
Fernez did it in 1926.

of course, Cousteau and Gagnan added a demand valve to a regulator
and... voila!! the modern SCUBA regulator was born

(note all these guys are French... hmmmm.....????)
