Hoping for help.

All is working well with connecting via IR. Now that I've put Win 10, the connection is no there. I'm pretty sure that the problem lies in the driver to the IR reader, and I'm not blaming ScubaPro for this. Well, maybe the fact that I went off brand rather than being made to pay so much for an adapter.

Anyone get the IR connection working with Win10?

A Windows10 driver is being constructed and should be available late September. We won't be able to say that the driver will be compatible with the IR device you currently have.

Thanks.
I may have to get the official one to make sure it works.

Just got myself a Luna and wanted to know if GearMo® Fast Infrared Adapter will work with it (have windows 7 and windows 10) or do I need to buy the expensive one from Scubapro.

Recently my laptop was upgraded from Windows 7 to 10. Before that all was fine. After the upgrade SmartTrak would not open. SmartTrak was unistalled and reinstalled. Then I went onto ScubaPro's website and followed the instructions (which came from Microsoft's website) for installing the IrDA driver. The only thing the instructions did not point out was to use the CMD function in Administrator mode. Very important to do so. All has been working fine at the moment.

LexMc, I've used both UWATEC's IrDA and a third party IrDA. UWATEC's works every time, where as the third party works most (but not all) of the time.

Thanks Shurite7. The UWATEC's one is $130 and the Gearmo one is only $30 (Canada prizes). Might try the gearmo first.

The one that looks like a fat silver bullet with a red end works fine. Lots of people use it and put their name on it, probably including Scubapro. The GearMo is one.

Note: Went and looked, Scubapro uses the same one. Some markeup, eh?

I quote from an Amazon site selling the Scubapro unit for $87.23:

[Don't bother. The ScubaPro version is a rip off.
You can buy this:
"Adapter USB 2.0 to IrDA - Windows 7, MAC OSX Compatible MOSCHIP 7780" through Amazon, and it works as well as the above, for only $23.95]
