Hi Folks,
Has anyone dove the Galapagos in May timeframe in a 3mm wetsuit?

I'd prefer to not have to wear my 7mm and would like to avoid buying a 5mm.

Generally I am pretty "cold tolerant" and I will be wearing a thick otter bay hood.

Any thoughts or insight is appriciated.

Thanks.

If you are doing a liveaboard with multiple dives per day, I would reconsider the 7mm.

I have not been but know several people that have been on multiple trips, and I can't imagine going with anything less. Also consider, if something were to happen, currents can be quite vicious from what I'm told. Would you rather be floating in a 3mm or 7mm?? I can give you the name of someone who has been multiple times if you would like some first hand info.

You also might consider that the islands on the west side get about 10 degrees colder than all the other islands (Isabella, Fernandina).

everyone has different cold tolerances, i would suggest to wear a 2mm shortie over your 3mm. get one at costco-cheap. at 3-4 dives per day it is nice to be a little more comfortable.
