to avoid messing up the housing with tape, colour or what else you can clone Inons Clear Photo System for zero $$$.
Get some of 100% exposed, black beginning of a 35mm film,
find a solution to stick it in front of the G11 strobe window and you are done.
As the overexposed film will filter the flash and let pass only the infrared rays from the strobe, it still will trigger the stobe but be invisible on the pictures.
This works perfectly on a Inon D-2000 and i guess also on your Intova.
To give it a try don't cost nothing and it avoids messing up the housing with tape what can get trapped between the o-ring with catastrophic results and it horrible look.
