I'm purchasing a Fusion drysuit, and I can't decide whether to go with the Tech or Lycra skin. I don't really think I need pockets, so that eliminates one of the reasons to go with the Tech. I understand the Tech is a bit tougher, but some of the reviews I've read seem to indicate the Lycra is pretty tough too.

Any recommendations?

I have both and I would go with the tech skin, and I would also suggest getting the tech skin with the pockets. Even if you are not using them now they will come in handy.

The lycra skin is a lot tougher than I thought that it would be, so if you want to save a little $ then the lycra is not a bad option.

I do not see myself switching to the lycra unless I am heading to Fl. or someplace fairly warm. Not that the tech skin is that much warmer (if any), just that the lycra skin is lighter for traveling.

I inadvertantly tested the durability of the lycra skin a few weeks ago.

I was making my way up the ramp at Lobos state park in Carmel, I stumbled, fell, and got rolled up and down the boat ramp a couple times before friends got me up. I could have drowned, but all I could think was that it was REALLY going to tear up that lycra skin. :censored:

It doesn't have a mark on it!!
