I took my nitrox class monday night and it was amazing at what you can learn in it. I never realized how little you actually learned in OW class. I am doing my AOW this weekend while were at Gennie Springs. I am very excited about furthuring my E.D. even more. I just wanted to share with everyone.

Congrats on being enlightened.

The majority of open water divers, which is the majority of certified divers, don't know what they don't know.

Never stop learning, because none of us will ever know it all.

Nice to hear you are going to do more. Hopefully, this wouldn't turn into a 40 page bash Padi thread...

If you are diving in Ginnie when will the cave bug bite you. I hope to see you on the dark side soon. Keep taking classes. it's a blast!!!!

Did you really learn that little in OW class?

Sounds like you've realized that you don't know what you don't know---and that's a good thing. :)

If they taught what has been refered to as the abcd's of diving and a little physiology in OW there would be very little need for a nitrox class at all...especially now that most agencies don't require any diving.

The abcd's, of course, refer to Archimedes, Boyle, Charles and Dalton.

Yep, the amazing thing is that you breath nitrox the same way you breath air.. inhale and then exhale; repeat as needed.

No. You have it wrong. The last one is DARWIN. He wrote a very well thought out theory of what happens to poorly trained OW divers. I seem to recall it had something to do with natural selection and survival of the fittest.
