Walter:
Close, but no banana. The index finger is placed on the side of the nose and is rotated back and forth.

ASL is the way to go. I believe all three references you listed are based on ASL.

:D We all pick our nose differently I guess :D

:rofl3:

But you are correct... all based upon ASL... know just enough to be dangerous... :D

Now, with THAT out of the way...

Point to your left nipple with your right hand, in one sweeping motion make the thumbs up sign and direct it over your right shoulder towards your back side.

I leftit behind. :D

Another variation on this is:

1) Point to your eye with your right hand, then
2) Point to your left nipple with your right hand
3) Now make the sign for boat using both arms, bringing them together like the bow of a boat...

(eye) (leftit) on the (boat)

Good one as always!

:D

A friend of mine returned from PNG and saw a new sign for stingrays in the area.

Act like you are pulling a barb from your chest and flop around then point in the direction of the rays. In his words..."affective but morbib".

DavidPT40:
I've seen hilarious posters of Navy Seal, SWAT team, and aircraft marshaller hand signals that someone has changed the captions to. Someone needs to find a diving hand signal poster and change the captions on them too.

Something similar to this:

That post that DavidPT40 put on with the SWAT link, that was hilarious!
My girlfriend doesn't like to pee in the water, or better put, most times cannot. If I hold my left index finger up, and use my right index and thumb to complete the "p" sign, sometimes it seems to help... not sure why but if I help her by telling her to go she can... funny, I know!

My sister and I use a rotating index finger to indicate a booger problem - point straight up and make small circles! If we do it to eachother it's normally followed by a slight head gesture so that the other one knows where the offending article is!! We also use raised eyebrows whilst doing it which is asking whether we're clear - the other either nods or does the left / right head gesture!! Ok, probably NOT the best use of hand signals, but neither is having people staring at yr boogers!!

Common hand sign between military/exmilitary divers in response to Out Of Air signal.

Point at signalling diver, pat your regulator, pat you posterior and then wave at the other poor smuck that has no air.
