You want to make sure that the mask fits you. I tried several models, the Scubapro was the one that didn't fit. The AGA works well and fits my face. Unless you plan on diving contaminated water you probably want to go with the 'semi-positiv' version. The M-48 worked well for me, too. It's a bit easier to use, as the lower pod comes off for surface breathing and emergency use of bailout. I find the AGA a bit more comfortable, and it has a good field-of-vision. I dove both with OTS comms, both Buddy Phone and 2010. Either one works very well once you get the hang of timing your transmission.

Getting training is a sound advice, you need to be able to don/doff the mask UW, clear it, bail out etc.
