Thinking about going down to Ft. Pickens jetties on 9/24 or 9/25 to do a beach dive. I would like to do more then 1 dive. It is a 3 hr trip for me to go and only can do a day trip. Would also like to hook up with some one that has been there and knows the area since I have never been there. When is a good time to dive as far as tides go?

Thanks

Reefman,

I'll be in Marianna on Saturday, otherwise I'd meet you then. According to the tide predictions, the best time to dive would be at 07:00 Sunday morning. Unfortuantely, I'm not available then. There are some people doing the Whiskey wreck in Gulf Shores around that time, if you're interested.

FYI,

You'll usually find a bit more activity in the general Deep Dixie Divers' Forum, especially for buddy searches.

Hope you can make it down!

Carl

Sunday is a neap tide. You can dive all day with little current. Visibility will be less but the good stuff is always close anyway. Go as far west as you can past the houses with green roofs. You will see a parking area with bathrooms. Cross the seawall onto the beach and just dive...... Rick Murchison of Montgomery fame has boat trips planned this weekend out of Panama City. Contact him here on the board and he can fill you in on the details...
