It's a go!

Business is taking me down to Fort Lauderdale, Florida during May! :D (darn it)

Going to play hooky and dive a little (ok more than a little). So I pulled together a trip with a couple local buddies of mine and we're going to do a bunch of wrecks around the Ft. Lauderdale area. Most of them will be in the 80' to 110' range.

Right now we've got a charter (Miss Conduct, Capt. Conrad) which can take 6 people max. and we've got room for 3 more.

Current plan is:
Friday, May 18
  • 2-tank a.m.
  • 3-tank p.m.
Saturday, May 19
  • 2-tank a.m.
  • 3-tank p.m.
Sunday, May 20
  • 2-tank a.m. (shallower-deep wrecks, closer to 80' than 100')

Cost will be roughly $60 to $70 per trip or around $130 for the day, not incl. tanks, weights (you're on your own for tanks and weights) or tips. We'll try to do a shore dive either Friday night or Saturday night at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

Transportation is on your own (air and ground) but I can work with you on hotel. Place I found is decent, no frills and will run about $35 to $50 per day per person, dbl. occupancy, depending upon how many people we've got.

If you're interested, let me know (PM me) so I can hold the spot on the boat for ya!

dldiver:
sounds like you have quite a trip all set.. but i thought i'd make sure you saw this thread:

http://www.scubaboard.com/showpost.p...6&postcount=81

there's a group from SB planning on diving just up the road in Deerfield on the weekend of May 19th/20th..
and i believe shore dives were part of the plan...maybe you can join up??

That'd be cool! We're planning on doing shore dives the 19th and 20th I think in the evenings. :D

I wish I could get this thread moved... :D to the South Florida Trips part... with the re-org... it went to the wrong spot, my bad.

Send any extra people our way and maybe we can get together for shore dives those evenings!

Still changing things around... was told there was a major fishing tournament which might prevent some dive boats from going out (in).

Plus Capt. Conrad's boat is still out of the water and will be while I'm diving there. Here's what our group of 3 is planning. I might piggy back on other groups if things fall through. :(

We're trying to hit mostly deeper 80' to 110' wrecks out there.

If you're up for night dives, we need at least 4 for the night dives! :D

Friday, May 18
  • 3 tank am. dive - leaves dock @ 9am
  • 2 tank night dive - leaves dock @ 6:30pm

Saturday, May 19
  • 3 tank am. dive - leaves dock @ 9am
  • 2 tank night dive - leaves dock @ 6:30pm

Sunday, May 20
  • 2-tank am. dive - leaves dock @ 8am

At this point the 3-tank trip is about $70, each 2-tank trip is $60. You're on your own for tanks, hotel, etc.

$40 for a 2 tanker or one :O

We'll be diving with Capt. Randy of Under Pressure on the morning dives and Capt. Tony from Diversity on the night dives.

If you're in the area... let me know via PM! I'm checkin' out the other threads right now.
