I am constantly trying to get close to one of these critters. They are just too active. This was today's attempt using optical zoom on macro then cropping the photo.

Very nice work!

Hard to get those little guys....I can't even get pictures that close to what you have here. It's the anticipation game with these little buggers.

Aren't they one of the most antsiest (is this how it is spelt??) things you've ever seen?

Yes they are "antsy". This is the adult which is no less "antsy" but is a larger target. The color transformation from juvenile to adult is amazing as with so many of the fish.
