The water warms up in May!! June would be better though.

a search on "Grand Bahama" yields 324 results.

I haven't heard anything good about that resort or the dive operator.

Ah, I searched Freeport, Bahama, not Grand Bahama. Did not know they were the same. That explains it.

Heard nothing good but heard bad things?

Our conference was moved from Cozumel to Grand Bahama Island!

There is no website describing water temp...so the question is...

What kind of water temps am I looking at?

If I remember correctly, In April mid to upper 70's

The only reason to go to Grand Bahama Island is for the diving - (water is cool in the winter, though) - don't forget to consider one of the best dive operations in the world, UNEXSO.

I'll strongly disagree on both counts!!!

UNEXSO isn't what it once was.

Tavi,

Nothing is as it once was; except, are you going to shark dive on your own? UNEXSO does it better than any other shop in The Bahamas.

I lived in Marsh Harbor, Abaco for five years - as a diver I'd rather visit there or, the Exumas, Cat, Long, Nassau, San Salvador, or even Bimini before I'd visit GB.

I've seen plenty of Sharks Diving with Grand Bahama Scuba and it cost a lot less. regardless of your certification UNEXSO will make you do shallow dives before taking you to Theo's or Duncan's (they call it SeaStar II). I remember 3 days in a row where divers sat on the boat all ready to go for over 1/2 hr, and the dolphin dive was cancelled. 1 day they made it back in time to dive with us. The other 2 days they missed out on diving.

as to Sharks, from what I've read, Stuart Cove does it best, but I like Grand Bahama, and have no desire to see Nassau.

There are other Islands I'd like to see, just haven't been to them yet.

I have nothing against the other GB operators, I'm just recommeding UNEXSO too. As far as Stuart Cove's, they do sharks well, but they're in Nassau, as you know.
