Hi i am thirteen. i was wondering weather or not i will be able to free dive. i can only hold my breath for about 30 seconds. Is it becuase my lungs are smaller because i am young? Also could i have some tips for holding my breath longer. Thankyou

Hey Charley,

You need to be careful when starting to freedive...there is something called a "shallow-water blackout" which can happen if you hyperventilate too much before holding your breath. Check your local area for a shop or resource for someone to teach you how to do it properly. You should also go with a trained adult who can supervise you.

Here is a freediving article you may want to take a look at: SCUBA-Free Diving?

You can also find a local dive store using our site...good luck!
