Well it crossed my mind. This was a brand new system that needed deburring and replacement of the now damaged webbing. Halcyon apparently agreed because they immediately exchanged it at no cost to me.

Every man should already own a file in their tool box, it's a very basic tool. Having to deburr the slots in a plate shouldn't be too much of a problem for anyone. I agree that they should already be deburred when they leave the shop, but it's still an easy matter to correct.

The Halcyon plates I've seen all had nicely radiused slots, probably a bad production run.

Might i inquire as to the 'born on' date for the Halcyon plate you had issues with?
Maybe this is a issue of the past...
yes but, I bet you don't have a chainsaw file in that toolbox! And that is why this post was resurrected. Few people who own chainsaws know how to even sharpen a chain, therefore don't even have the file, so odds are nil that that it would be found in someone's toolbox. Apparently backplates and STAs todate can still have a burr problem, so I guess I should have opened a whole new thread... sorry
