I'm a Fish!
I took a hard fall on my upper forearm just below the elbow. It was bruised pretty bad for a week but it's getting better...except for one specific little are that is still pretty painful to the touch. I can do all the usual thing (bend my arm, move my wrist around, etc. even do push ups) with no pain so I'm really praying it's just a bad bruise. My question is this: If it's a small or even hairline fracture can I still dive? I'm going on a trip in two weeks and it would be worthless if I can't dive. I was told a tiny fracture would be ok to dive with just don't ever dive with a full break or serious fracture. Anyone have any thoughts on this subject? I'm going to my doctor today but I'm guessing he know very little about diving.

Thanks!

The important issue is function. Provided you can do the necessary physical things - lift your equipment, climb into the boat, swim - you should be OK. The distinction between bruising and a minor fracture really isn't that important.

Dive conservatively. Injured tissues can act as a focus for bubbling.

Thanks!
