Considering an X-core vest to add warmth to my Thermal Fusion but maintain mobility. Curious if the X-core is so special that it'd be warmer than me making my own vest out of -

Merino
Fleece (the top, heavyweight)

I already own these two and would consider cutting the arms off and sewing 'em together.
