While searching for some HP120's, I came across someone selling an OMS LP112 with an OMS DIN all around 10 years old for $250. I never tried an LP112; however, I’m quite comfortable running a HP120 with a drysuit (5’11” 205lbs). Would there be a significant different feel, and does that sound like a good deal? BTW, the tank has current vis and hydro.

250 for a 10 year old lp seems to be a bit steep. You also need to see the condition of the tank inside out. For that amount it should be at least re-hydroed new old stock.
OMS is a Faber with cold galvanizing. The paint tends to get chiped off and can be quite bad for a 10 year old.
LP112 is a 8 inch tank and will feel different from am Hp120(worthington?)
Its shorter, thicker, more buoyant IIRC and lighter on the tail.
The DIN valve is not convertable either.
Current hydro and vis does not mean much at that level of price. I think not only should it have them current but also be in an outstanding condition and have at least 4 years valid hydro:)

They are actually 2 tanks ($250 each). Original hydro was 07/02. Tanks have current hydro (1/2012) and VIP. Valves are convertible OMS pro valve (din with a yoke insert). Seller tumbled and o2 cleaned the tanks (instructs at dive shop).

Check under the boot as the boot is a killer for those tanks.
I would not consider that an outstanding deal :) They seem to be in a fair condition. But still I would look inside.

Compared to new the price is not all that great. A while back I bought two LP cylinders (LP95 and LP108) sans valves for not much more than they are asking for one. Here is a recent ad on da board for a couple of the same for $150.

I would say the above is a very good deal. The cylinders you are looking at seem to be in average shape so I think $250 is over priced. Especially as one sees doubles often in $500-$600 price range on a regular basis. $175-$200 at best IMHO.

Thanks for all the advice. I just noticed that Leisure Pro has brand new Faber HP120's for $339 including valve/boot (free shipping). I think I may whip out the plastic and jump on that deal. I couldn't find any similar deals and LP does ship fast to my area.
