This critter is only about 1" long, found in about 10fsw.

Yes. At first I thought it was dead, but it definitely moved around.

Litopenaeus setiferus?
 
I don't think so.. this one has claws..
 
The teeny tine ones I've seen in Louisiana do too, they seem to take on another role when they are adults. I don't really think it's Litopenaeus setiferus, they only occur int he Gulf, but I'd bet it's a aquarium release, or maybe just an undiscovered species. Name it, describe it, document it and it's yours. Good for a doctorate, at least.
