Actually, most Unix operating systems (Like Solaris, BSD and LInux) come with a fortune cookie program. Having set it up to give a user a 'fortune' when they log on, I've actually gone through the list and found some really good ones...

multiple years ago, I went out to lunch with friend from grad school who was working for the same company. We went to a hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant downtown, and my cookie read, "A starship ride has been promised to you by the galactic wizard." I kid you not. I was really freaked over this. Everyone else in the restaurant had "normal" fortunes.

I bet some bored worker at the factory just wanted to play with people's heads. It sure worked.
