Fort Lauderdale lobstering ?'s

i plan on scouting the weekend before the the weekend preseason by boat, not familar with the area, can anybody point me in the right direction for good bottom to get started, we plan on using a "3rd lung/browny" fresh air pump w/reg, so our depths are restricted to about 25-30ft to find lobster, at this depth are they plentiful? how far out from the coast can the bugs be found?

also how choppy is the water this time of year, we plan on using a 19ft center consol boat to get were we need to be
