I'm getting ready to get a pair of Force fins (original or Pro) and start practicing for a watermanship test for both a Public safety diver and a Divemaster course. The distance for the swim is 800 meters. I have used full foot split and open heel paddle fins in the past (both caused foot and ankle pain on long swims). Any advice about how to kick with these for best results? I will be using these for regular diving also and I won't be using them in the Pub safety work (they supply fins for us) but I use my fins for the annual swim test.

Also thoughts on what fin to use, Pro or original?

Any help would be great

mullannix930, I would use the Original Force FinForce Fin Force Fin Original - For Snorkeling!. It's better for surface swimming, due to a more flexible fin blade. Our Foil Force is sweet for surface swimming and great for diving...and our special foot pocket. terrestrial experience..... I always wonder why divers put a fin onto their foot and toes, make no sense... A terrestrial experience, Just hurts and causes cramps.Force Fin: The Earth is Round and I think Jens Hilbet still holds the World Record swimming underwater. You can check out his kick,Long Distance Underwater Swimming Record - YouTube. Best of luck, Bob
