We made fun of you! ;)
Just kidding. What we did do is go ahead and set up the first charter for next season at the coast. It will be through Discovery. April 2 & 3 (first week-end in April). The Saturday dive (Apr 2) will be two back to back inshore dives on the Indra, and Sunday (Apr 3) will be an offshore day, diving the Aeolus and the Spar. We are wanting all first time NC coast divers to make the Saturday trip (right of passage dive so to speak) to ensure all are up to par before heading out to deeper dives. Plenty of time for all to work out the details so they can be there. Some are talking about getting hotel rooms, some of us guys are going to rough it and stay at the Discovery bunk house. Start making plans! It's going to be a great summer.

I have no idea what was wrong with my computer last night. HAL only let me get online long enough to say Hey! Works fine now. I guess he didn't want me talking to you guys!

I'm in for the April trip. This will be my first wreck dive and I'm excited about diving the Indra for the first time. I know the conditions aren't the greatest on the Indra as far as vis goes, but it is a good idea for us first timers.

Did I miss anything else? Too bad I wasn't online so I could have given you all the gruesome details of my first boat dive in Key Largo. Lets just say I don't think I'm going to enjoy the 2-3 hour boat trips out to the NC wrecks.

Are we still diving December 5th?

had a side job that dragged on too long and I missed the chat. I am also looking forward to diving off of the coast of NC and would much rather do it for the 1st time with a group than by myself.

Mind over matter! We don't mind you getting sick so it doesnt matter :)

Jason,

I should've brought my laptop to the Capital City Brewery during our get together of Northern VA/MD/DC divers. I am sure I could have piggy backed off of someone's wireless connection. We all had a great time thanks to Volky (Seawitch 2) and Vanessa (Wreck Goddess). That's great you guys were able to work some dates and a great dive plan. I am definitely there for both days. What is the Discovery bunk? is Lake Rawlings on 12/5 a go or no go?

Pedro

Hi Pedro: Glen's trying to check on Lake Rawlings - its "offically" closed, but they let groups have the key - problem is air for some/most of us. So we don't know yet. I guess if we can't get air, we may have to do Fantasy Lake. - Or get air from somewhere else.

Hi Mel: See my previous post for the 12/5 get-together. 4/2-3 will be my first wreck dive also - and I am pumped! I think Kristi will join us, at least for the Indra on Saturday. Sorry about the motion sickness - go for the patch! And we DON'T mind! Hell, I might join you at the rail!

I spoke with Discovery today and I need a head count of who's DEFINATELY going to make and for which days. Once I commit, we'll need to have a deposit for the first day of diving, and pay for the second day 30days after that, so I'll need to collect money. Here's the pricing.

1st day - 1/2 day 2x25 minute dives on the Indra. morning trip will be $50/person
2nd Day - Full day offshore Diving the Spar and the Aeolus $85/person
Bunkhouse is $14 per person per night

Tanks:
Alum. 80 Nitrox - $12 air - $5
Alum. 100 Nitrox - $18

I figure we'll do the morning trip and have a cookout or go to dinner somewhere afterward and get ready for day 2 ;) The Aeoulus usually has sharks but I don't know about that early in the year.

Here's who I have in my head that's coming, so please let me know:

Charlie NCDiver2004 AKA- Both Days
Kris - One Day
Mel AKA suthnbelle1968 - Both Days
Ken AKA kwikert- Both Days
Jason AKA JasonB - Both Days
Pedro AKA pairizarry - Both Days
Dale AKA dwright AKA me - Both Days
PlankSpanker - ?

All,

I would be willing to help with air situation for Lake Rawlings, if that's an issue. I am willing to haul air from Northern VA down there. I can get air from Virginia Scuba for $8 a tank ($16.80 2-tanks with tax).

Dale,

What is the deadline for reservations for the trip/money? I mentioned it in a reply to the Happy Hour prior to the pricing thread you posted. If you want you can place the info in the Mid-Atlantic section as well, even though the folks should know to check NCWD section as well.

Pedro

I'm definitely in for both days.
