Boy, I'm not going to bother rinsing my DIN XTX50 any more! If it can survive that long in full saltwater, my monthly use for a couple hours will barely make a dent... Kidding.

Huh? Sealed 2nd stage?

Yeah, sealed. In that the orifice was sealed / seated against the LP seat so water could not enter (even if not pressurized). Most regs are built that way. The exception are Atomic second stages which have a small wave washer which unless pressurized keep the orifice away from the seat.
