Hi Everyone,
I am a new AOW diver and I’m looking for some advice. I just did a 3 tank dive this past weekend. Afterwards I just felt as if I’ve been hit by a brick. Super jet lag feeling, foggy head, unable to focus. Is this just from pure exhaustion of a newbie or something more serious? Thanks

It’s been 3 days, the exhaustion has gone but the foggy head has not gone away. I went to the ER yesterday, CT shows no air embolism. Blood works all good. I am unsure what to do next. I have dive assure and they are no help. Will DAN give advice if I am not a member?

Yes they will give you advice for free and only the insurance part you need to pay. Good you went to the ER even better if you could see a specialist doctor in diving.

Take my word for it i am not doctor what if this is a a condition that you had anyway before you dove and i just pop up now.You might have cold, flu or something.

Going back on exhaustion yes it s normal to fell a bit slam after diving especially for a 3 tank AIR dive.

Diving on nitrox you will have felt less tired.

Be safe

Yes, please call DAN. A few days is way too long. It's not unusual for divers to get the drowsies for an afternoon. NitrOx and opting for a five-minute safety stop goes a long way to prevent sub-clinical DCS. But, once hit, it's time to end the denial and get some help, ASAP!!!

Call DAN!!!
+1-919-684-9111

DAN Emergency Hotline: +1-919-684-9111 DAN medics are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to assist divers and medical personnel in managing diving emergencies.

It will cost you absolutely nothing to call them!

I called DAN. The medic said he believed it to be moderate decompression sickness.

Question. I have dive assure and I dove here at home. Will they cover me if I need medical treatment?

Curious about your breathing pattern. “Skip breathing” can have that affect, though not for three days.

Could you have covid, flu or something else unaffiliated with diving?
I can totally see me skip breathing.

Dr checked for Covid and flu, both negative. I don’t have any underlying health issues.

I would go see a doc to rule out any serious thing. def skip diving tomorrow and until you feel better
