Dear Florida Keys’ SBers

Next month I will be celebrating my 50th Birthday and my girlfriend will be doing her first warm water open dives in the Florida Keys. This will be both of our first dive trips to the Keys. I am a Nudibranch fanatic and cannot seem to get enough of the little guys and I would liike to share the Joy of Nudis with my girlfriend. Are there any dive sites prone to Nudibranches in mid to late November? We will be doing most of our diving in the Key Largo & Islamorada region, but we have saved one day to dive/drive down south.

Any suggestions are quite welcomed.

Thanks and Happy Bubbles,

~Oldbear~

Most of the nudi's are found in the turtle grass. In fact, there are awesome nudi's to be found in the keys. Operators won't go to the turtle grass. I had to buy my own boat to figure out where the nudi's are.

Thanks Wookie...buying my own boat might not be in the scheme of options for a five day trip...:D

Any Turtle Grass dive sites with Nudi possibilites close to shore, i.e. shore dive or snorkle trip?

There are some nudis on the reefs if you look carefully for them. I have seen two. Seen the sea goddess several times.

Oldbear, I would suggest you go and check out the Blue Heron Bridge Trolls thread:

It's a bit north from Key Largo, but definitely doable. They see LOTS of nudis there:D

I would love to go to the Blue Heron Bridge...but I will have to save that for another trip, but the Nudis are just one more reason to do it. :D

Thanks for the tip.
