Hello to all:
I have been interested in diving for many years but have never acted upon it until this year. I live in Bradenton, Florida and received my open water certification in May of 2008. Since being certified I have gone on 2 boat dives a reef off the coast of Ana Maria Island. I have also done 2 beach dives on Spanish Rock and the Sugar barge, all of which are off Ana Maria Island. The reefs around Florida thus far are amazing especially when you consider the cost of gas and time. I regret not getting certified earlier. Next I plan to go dive in Venice for shark teeth then over to west palm to check out the reefs over there. My future destinations are the Florida keys and Bahamas. The water clarity down in the Bahamas is amazing so i hear. I stumbled upon this site searching for places to dive in Florida and since then i have learned a wealth of knowledge from just reading all the posts. I am very impressed with how knowledgeable everyone on these boards are and I appreciate all the information everyone has posted, I have already seen some amazing places and members are not too impressed with spanish rock or the mile reefs so i can't wait to see whats in store for the places the members agree are awesome!
