If you will be here in Oct and Feb, and you are still interested in training, here is my suggestion.
Do an Intro/Basic Cave class in October so that you can dive all you want in February in the caves. You'll need a minimum of 2 full days free for the Intro/Basic class, although planning for 3 is better to be on the safe side.
There are lots of excellent Cave instructors in FL. My top 3 to suggest would be Rick Murcar (GDI on SB), Bert Wilcher at Tampa Adventure Sports, and Rich Courtney at Cave Excursions East.
