I did my last 3 OW checkouts with T.J. from Dayo Scuba. He does alot od cave courses and everyone seems to be very happy with him. Also, if you go to Wet-n-fla Scuba, he is who phil will refer you to.

Neil

TJ is a full-time instructor. He does not run a store or sell gear. And because dive training is his "day job" he is more available to meet your schedule requirements.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys. I'll check these people out. And BTW, I guess I will just do intro to cavern since I don;t have a lot of the equipment and I will be restricted to 3 days in Orlando.

Dan Patterson is another to look into. I have done a lot of training with him and he is excellent. Others here will vouch for him also.

Can you send me contact info for him? Thanks

I did Cavern/Intro w/ Jim Wyatt in January and would definitely recommend him. Great guy, great teaching style, and a very accomplished diver.

NACD Instructors

Look there for NACD instructors, I'm sure the other agencies have a page like that too. Try to ask for references from other instructors, and dive with some of their students. If their students are on average good divers, that's a sign the instructor is doing something right.

I did my cavern with Lloyd Bailey and I'm doing intro with him in May.

Another vote in favor of Rick Murcar. I'm doing my Intro training with him this weekend. He has been a wealth of information even before the course. I've emailed and/or talked with him dozens of times over the past few months and he has already provided lots of info. I've talked with many of his former students and all had nothing but great things to say. I dove with one of them a few weeks back and had a great time.

I also have to say that Bert Wilcher is an awesome guy and I'm sure his class would be great as well. His shop, Tampa Adventure Sports, has become my new favoritest LDS around (only about 4 miles from my house). Very Tech oriented, and never too busy to answer a question or offer great advice.

Hello, I was actually certified by Keith in Orlando,FL (That is where his shop is). He is a wonderful guy and is very experienced.
