We did this Flight last Wednesday...

Maya air is out of Terminal 1 in Cancun. International Flights come into Terminal 3, Domestic Flights are Terminal 2. Terminal one is for charters and Maya air. Flying itnernational as you come out of Terminal 3, make an immediate left and you will see a sign for the free shuttle. Tell the driver you want to go to Terminal 1.

Flights from Cozumel to Cancun run on the even hour starting at 8am, flights from Cancun to Cozumel runs on the odd hour, with the last flight at 7pm.

Flight was $65 pp one way. Flight is on a 19 passenger plane. Our flight had 6 people on it. The website says baggage allowance was 1 50 lb bag. We had two 50 lb bags each and it was not on a problem, nor was it for the 2 others on my trip who did the same thing. I am guessing that it may be a bigger issue if the flights were full.

Flight was on time and took 18 minutes from wheels up to wheels down in Cozumel.

I'd certainly do it again, its a low level flight and the views were great!

Thanks geo for putting that info down very easy to read and plan. kev

i go through cun every year. do not take the cun-czm flight. expensive and unreliable. buses and ferries more reasonable and reliable.
dave at aldora good advice getting from cun to coz on his website.

Okay, I have to call you out on this. Mayair only recently started flying cun-czm. You come here ONCE a year. That means you at most have taken the flight twice or so. Yet you're confident in saying that it's unreliable?

On what do you base this? Have you personally taken the flight?

I've seen one person come off the flight on more than one occasion and I know several people who have been the only one or two on the flight. My neighbor just flew over there and back in a day to take care of some business - she was there and back in four hours! It would have been an all day affair the other way.

Expensive? That's subjective I guess - but my time is most certainly worth the $30 more to save 2.5 to 3 hours of travel time and struggling with luggage from the plane, to the bus, to the ferry, off he ferry, to the hotel. Sorry to hear you think your time is only worth $10 to $15 per hour

I wonder if the time of year makes a difference too. I know during high season, the ferry runs every hour, but this time of year, it was over 2 hours till the next ferry, making it close to a 4 1/2 hour trip. We did the flight in 90 minutes. And Maya air met us at the shuttle bus and picked up our bags directly from there.

I know we spent the layover in Playa at Senor Frogs and easily spent the difference in food and drink waiting for the ferry.

got me. i did not know that it is a new service. my prejudice is apparently based on their predecessor back in the 90's.

I am considering the flight cun-czm for my July trip. I am travelling with kids so is the routing of luggage an issue? I have read in an earlier post of some issues with MayAir. I am considering picking up the tickets together on Orbitz.

Thank you

Well, assuming you are flying to Cancun from the US, you will have to collect your bags going though Customs & Immigration, then take them out to the shuttle bus over to the other Terminal, and then take them over to the Maya Air counter where you would check in for the flight.

There were porters available, which we didn't use.

Took the flight last week, just like Georoc posted. I had no problems, I thought it was a fun flight with great views. Be sure to specify Terminal 1 to the shuttle driver.
