Hello everyone

Sony a7rv
Backscatter mf-1
S-TURTLE TTL trigger

Flash on camera set to fill-in mode

The flash doesn't go off on first shot
It only goes off if I do two quick consecutive shots and only on the second shot

Ideas?
Thank you

Thank you!!
You solved this. I owe you a dive if you're ever in the UAE. :D

I was setting up the flash wrongly.

Strangely, I've never done this in 3 years of owning it.

I did the initial setup with more than a single test fire that day.

Here is a snippet from back scatter explaining this:

It's a fairly common mistake - you turn it on, fire a test shot, the flash doesn't respond, so you try again and end up programming a pre-flash sequence by mistake. I don't own an MF-1, but on my Retras, there is a similar 'Smart SL' mode which can do the same thing, but it has feedback - when it's learning, the indicator LED on the strobe flashes amber, and once the sequence is in, the LED turns solid. Not sure if MF-1/MF-2 has a similar feedback circuit, the manual is fairly sparse.

Neither the mf1 or mf2 indicate learning mode.
